The Wyong District Museum and Historical Society is located at Alison Homestead, which is set on two hectares in a rural setting on Wyong?s first land grant dating back to 1825.
In the Homestead and other buildings onsite, there are displays of memorabilia, photos, furniture, toys and other household items, equipment, machinery and tools all relating to the early settling of Wyong and surrounds. There is an old slab hut which was part of Yarramalong Public School before it was dismantled and rebuilt on site which contains furniture, equipment, books, maps and memorabilia relating to the history of early school days in the area.
Club and group outings welcome. Morning and afternoon teas available.
School groups are very welcome to visit for a day of fun history. They can arrange a variety of demonstrations and activities for your group and supply cool drinks, tea, coffee, ice blocks at a small extra charge. The children can picnic in the gardens in between participating in a range of activities.
They have extensive library and research facilities, a covered outdoor area for functions, weddings, events and meetings and a picnic area with barbecues and toilets. The grounds are dog friendly....
