Pimpara Lake Station is a 44,000 hectare sheep and cattle property located west of the Silver City Highway, 200 kilometres north of Broken Hill.
Since purchasing the property in 1980 the owners, Jon and Ruth Sandow, have actively engaged in sustainable water and pasture conservation practices that support livestock production and, at the same time, enhance habitat for wildlife, including forty man-made watering points.
Self-guided or guided property tours are designed to demonstrate these conservation activities and provide many opportunities for observing and photographing the wildlife and natural landscapes. Night skies are often clear and enable serious star watching and photography.
Accommodation options include secluded campsites (ideal for families and bird-watchers), and self-catering shearers' quarters for up to twelve guests (linen can be provided upon request).
The Homestead B and B enables closer interaction between guests and Pimpara Lake's owners, with home-style meals served in the homestead dining room. ...
